What is a thermal transfer ribbon?
A thermal transfer ribbon (TTR) is a consumable used in barcode printers. Heat from the printhead melts ink from the ribbon onto labels, producing durable, smudge-resistant prints. It's the standard for shipping labels, product barcodes, pharma packaging, and garment tags.
Is a TTR ribbon the same as a barcode printer ribbon or a thermal ribbon?
Yes. TTR ribbon, thermal transfer ribbon, barcode ribbon, barcode printer ribbon and thermal ribbon are all names for the same product: the ink ribbon a thermal transfer printer heats to print barcodes and text onto a label. Codewell supplies 11 CW grades, slit to size in its Badli factory.
What's the difference between wax, wax-resin, and resin ribbons?
Wax ribbons (CW-11, CW-12) work best on paper labels — shipping, retail, and general use. Wax-resin ribbons (CW-15 to CW-30) offer better durability on coated papers and some synthetics. Resin ribbons (CW-28, CW-33, CW-66) are for synthetic labels needing chemical and heat resistance. Choose based on your label material and environment.

What is DPCC approval and why does it matter?
DPCC stands for Delhi Pollution Control Committee, Delhi's pollution-control regulator. Our Badli factory operates with DPCC approval — its consent to operate under the Air and Water Acts. For buyers with supplier-compliance checks, that is documented proof we manufacture legally and responsibly.
